| Q |
What are the different Modes of delivery of CAMI certification? |
| A) |
Programs in Carlton can be done through three modes
• Direct- to- net mode
Some programs, specifically knowledge-based programs can be done entirely through net-based education. Internet based education offers the very best of synchronous and asynchronous modes of education. These are highly tailored and up-to-date courses, which do not have a high skill component.
• Course components include › Online quizzes › Tutor support › Course tracking › E-mail › On line instructor led threaded discussion groups › No book requirement › Monthly update capsules
To ensure high level of online learning
Minimum Computer requirement - Pentium Class PC with sound card ( for some courses) , no plug ins required
• Instructor aided and partial- net- mode
Instructors working with Carlton University or professional trainers accredited by Carlton guide the student through an on-line curriculum. This is for programs, which have a high skill and knowledge component. Carlton also interfaces with corporate training networks the world over to offer high quality out-reach programs.
• Accredited Instructor based mode
Carlton selects some of the best corporate training networks the world over to accredit. The selection is strenuous and ensures that the company selected maintains high and stringent quality standards. In this mode there is no direct net contact. The courses are normally tailored to meet with local country requirements. The accredited instructor mode of programs are recommended for programs conducted outside the US. This ensures that the program meets the local requirements and is conducted accordingly. Independent external examiners evaluate all programs conducted by accredited agencies. This ensures programs meet expected standards. Often but not always the independent examiners would be US based academicians or working professionals. They would have a minimum of 10 years of experience.
The courses are conducted only outside the US. Prices may vary based on multiple parameters

 |
| Q |
How is quality maintained? |
| A) |
CAMI is involved in both direct validation and franchising arrangements. The intellectual property for a course resides - with CAMI.
CAMI validates courses taught at other institutions which are not authorised to award their own degrees. Such courses are validated as being of a standard equivalent to the CAMI's own courses and they lead to the award of Certification. The executive Committee has responsibility for policy and procedure relating to thevalidation of courses. No course is validated until the Committee has investigated the suitability of the institution.
To ensure consistency with the prescribed guidelines on Quality Assurance.
This information aims to ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance Agency for continuing education.
The CAMI code of practice for external examining states:
"In all the CAMI's programs, affiliate institutions are responsible for the standards and quality of the education they provide and the awards they offer.
External examiners, appointed by CAMI act as independent and impartial advisors providing institutions with informed comment on the standards set and student achievement in relation to those standards. External examining is therefore an integral and very important part.
